Laalasa Kella

TIES Sales Showdown Officer

Class of 2027 | Katy, TX

More about me

Howdy! I'm Laalasa Kella, an Industrial Distribution student at Texas A&M University with a passion for technical sales, competition, and developing the next generation of sales engineers. As the TIES Sales Showdown Officer for the SEED, I have the privilege of organizing and conducting Texas A&M's technical sales competition. This role has sharpened my leadership, event coordination, and communication skills. I know the competition well from both sides of the table, having won the TIES Sales Showdown Championship in Fall 2025. That firsthand experience is what drives me to create a meaningful and challenging environment for every competitor.

My professional experience spans both sales and operations. Last summer, I served as a Sales and Logistics Intern at Keating Auto Group, where I developed a strong foundation in sales strategy and operations management by learning to navigate fast-paced environments in the automotive industry, building personal client relationships, and keeping complex logistics running smoothly. This summer, I am expanding into the energy sector as a Supply Chain Management Program Intern at Halliburton, where I am gaining exposure to large-scale supply chain operations and deepening my understanding of how industry-leading companies manage resources and logistics at a global scale. On campus, I also serve as PR Chair for Aggie Classics, a women's organization at Texas A&M, where I lead outreach efforts and build community engagement.

Long term, I aim to grow into a strategic leadership role where I can bridge the gap between technical expertise and business development, whether that's continuing to optimize supply chains, driving sales in a competitive industry, or leading teams that solve complex operational challenges. I want to build a career where I'm constantly challenged, and where I can mentor others the way I've been mentored.
